My professional career started after the birth of my first daughter (she's 18 now) I started with powerful and beautiful, untouched, film portraits of naked pregnant women. As my family grew, I took family portraits and head shots. My focus seems to always have been how powerful women are in their natural state. I've been excited about the work of ABBP because it makes me recognize that there are other photographers out there doing similar work.

These days, I'm doing mostly portrait or headshot work, and currently have my work up at the BC museum in Victoria as part of a project called "Our Living Languages". I'm based in Vancouver. www.lisahartley.com
