Freud and Jung both contributed enormously to our deeper understanding and acceptance of the unconscious. In no way was I taking that away from either. They also both lived at a different time with strict lines between acceptable male and female behavior. But “penis envy” is a big one and both contributed mightily to rigid lines that still gag and bind today. I think it is wholly possible to cast a discerning eye on their lives - neither were all good or all bad — but they clearly played roles in behaviors we deal with today.
