When I was 21, I got a tattoo on my tummy. But Ten years and four children later, it was totally stretched out and broken.
At first, after my oldest child was born, I had to get used to my new body and broken tattoo. But in the years following, my body changed more and more… It grew when I was pregnant, and every time I ended up with a perfect baby, but more ‘damage’ to my body.
But even though my total body has changed and I had to say goodbye to my old body-image, I am more proud of it now, then I was back then when it looked ‘better’. My body had proven itself. Four children grow in my belly and they all drank milk that came out of my breasts. The fact that my body can do all that, makes me more secure than a flat abdomen or perfect breasts.
When I decided to get a new tattoo, I wanted one that was showing my pride. So now I have four rose and a pin-up that is breastfeeding. The roses represent my children, the pin-up my inner-me. Maybe my body don’t look perfect anymore, it works perfect, and that makes me feel beautiful!
