Like I have said before, I was raised by musical hippies. Religion was not enforced upon my growing-up self. Finding my authentic and artistic being, however, was strongly enforced. My Tia Esperanza tried with all of her heart and soul to bring me to the Catholic Church, and I liked it. Occasionally. Especially on Sundays when we got to wear new outfits and cute black suede shoes and flirt with the boys after the service while Esperanza purchased tortilla masa and groceries in the Pueblo Mini-Super.

But when you get to choose your hearts desire, perhaps it becomes more difficult to follow suit under someone else’s strict belief of how humans should think, behave, eat and have sex.

I like to believe I am my own Universe and so who else would know when I should have sex, when I should pray and how often I should not say “FUCK!!”

I am not saying I run around being totally disorderly and disrespectful. I am even going to take a jump here and say that I am perhaps overly respectful because I truly love and honor ALL the individual and authentic Universes that are the People of my Community. Without their Authentic representation of life, there would be a lot less to draw inspiration from. A whole lot less. LIke, barely much at all.

And so then there is Yoga. Both my sister and father are yoga teachers. They like to talk Yoga: A lot. And what I notice about these talks the most are the numerous paragraphs of the likes and dislikes of styles of yoga and the teachers. That’s cool, I say. But just remember: the Catholic Church ain’t for everyone, so why would Yin Yoga or Ashtanga or Kripalu Yoga be the “RIGHT” yoga or the “WRONG” yoga?

Yoga just is. We? Just are.

Life? Just is: Manifesting itself weather we like it or not. So I say: make LIFE what you want, believe in yourself and walk your talk so that the rest of the Universes can reflect YOU and chime in to make your life beautiful, however they choose how to show up in this collective galaxy we call community, that we call Life.

Here are two Gorgeous Yoga Goddess I recently photographed, living their Authentic truth of Yoga, shining brightly their Universe of Divine Beauty in this Galaxy we all share:
